The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks dropped two to Mount Pleasant last night. In a doubleheader heard here on KCII, the Mount Pleasant girls beat Mid-Prairie 61-56 behind Taylor Shull’s 26 points. Golden Hawk Head Coach Marc Pennington says they started a little slow but he felt they played well in the last three quarters. For Mid-Prairie:

Mariah Swartzentruber 10 points.
Mid-Prairie is now 7-13 on the season and will host Washington tonight.

In the boys game, third ranked Mount Pleasant jumped out to a ten point lead in the first quarter getting up 14-4, but Mid-Prairie fought back to take a one point lead into the second quarter up 17-16. The Panthers led 32-26 at the half, but Mount Pleasant opened things up in the third and were up 54-36 going in to the fourth. The Panthers win 66-48. For Mid-Prairie:

After the game Golden Hawk Assistant Coach Chris Kearn said while it’s tough to lose, opponents like Mount Pleasant make you better in the long run and it’s more benefitial than playing a team you could probably beat by thirty. Mid-Prairie is now 12-7 on the season Mount Pleasant is 14-2. The Golden Hawks host Washington for a girl boy doubleheader. You’ll be able to hear both games on KCII.
