The Washington Public Library is having their monthly piano concert next week. In celebration of Black History Month, Library Director Patrick Finney says they are having a combination of music and poetry.  He says the performing artists will be Bob McConnell from the Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra, pianist Susan See, and flutist Madeline Sloat.

Finney says they will be performing music from William Grant Still.  Mixed in the program will be poetry from Maya Angelou read by Lynnette Martin Loula.

This concert and poetry reading will take place Thursday, February 24th from 12:15 to 12:45 on the second floor of the Washington Public Library. The concert is free and if you would like more information, you can contact the Washington Public Library.
