A public hearing was held Monday evening in the Iowa House of Representatives Chambers discussing House Joint Resolution Six. State Representative Jarad Klein says this resolution is to define marriage between one man and one woman. He says there was an even split of those who spoke both for and against the issue. Klein says everyone was cordial and discussion did not turn personal. He notes the resolution did pass the House this (yesterday) morning.62 to 37 on the resolution. Klein says the resolution was sent to the state Senate. The resolution would need to pass through the House two times before it can be presented to Iowa voters in 2013.
