Iowa’s Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioners attended the annual Conservation Partnership Day at the Capitol in Des Moines this week.  During the meeting held in the capitol rotunda, the Commissioners talked with their local state Senators and Representatives about the important need for investing in Iowa’s land and soil for this and future generations.  Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey says this day was a great opportunity to talk with legislators and other leaders about the work being done by the different Soil and Water Conservation Districts in the state.  Those in attendance showed current projects happening in each conservation district in the state.  Washington County is in district seven and nine representatives from this district were in attendance.
