Governor Terry Brandstad has started his interview process with nine nominees for the state supreme court.  Judge Michael R. Mullins is among nine selected by The Judicial Nominating Committee to fill one of three vacancies on the Court.  The vacancies came from a non-retention vote in last November’s election.

Judge Mullins was appointed as a District Judge in 2002.  He is a judge for District 8 which covers 14 counties in southeast Iowa.  Governor Branstad has until the end of the month to make the appointments to the state Supreme Court.
