The State Theater restoration is progressing. Manager Dick Shepherd says the contractors are working every day to remodel the interior of the State Theater after last November’s fire. Shepherd says most of the auditorium has been repainted, new ceiling tiles have been installed, the restrooms have been framed, the decking of the balcony is being mounted and the projection booth has been repaired and is ready for the equipment to be put in.
He says one of the biggest projects was to put in new wiring as most of it was from the 1930s. Shepherd adds it will be a safer building in the end. He says they are hoping to reopen in mid April.
