Main Street Washington held a fundraiser this past weekend for the State Theater. Event Coordinator Lara Williams says the event was held at 207 West Main Street Saturday evening. The event hosted eight music groups that performed throughout the night.
She says about 150 people were in attendance and they raised about $1000 in profit. The proceeds will go toward removing the outer blonde bricks, replacing the doors and windows and replacing the marquee at the theater.
Williams notes the remodeling work on the inside of the theater from last November’s fire is still in progress. She adds another fund raising event is being planned for some time in March.
