The Washington County Board of Supervisors held their weekly meeting yesterday morning and have decided to move forward with the Richmond sanitary sewer project.  The supervisors voted four to one in favor of the project with Supervisor Ron Bennett casting the lone no vote.  Also during the meeting, they talked about the Washington County Compensation Board’s proposed 2.5% wage increase.  The supervisors decided to only recommend a 1.25% wage increase.  Ron Bennett spoke about the wage increase saying since he has just started in his position as supervisor, he feels he is not entitled to the wage increase and will pay the increase back to the county.  All new wages would take effect July 1st of this year.
