Disasters can happen at any time and any place and Washington County’s Community Organizations Active in Disasters (COAD) team wants to remind everyone to be prepared.  Washington County Public Health Program Director Chrystal Woller says it’s important to have an emergency plan ready in case of a disaster.  She says you should have at least a three day supply of food and water for every member of your family.

Woller says that while local officials and relief workers may be on the scene after a disaster, they cannot reach every right away.  She adds taking action now can help to minimize the impact an emergency will have on your lives.  To find out more about COAD or what to put in a disaster kit, click here.
