The Washington County Board of Supervisors held a special session yesterday morning to discuss the fiscal year 2012 budget.  The Supervisors agreed to an approximate $966,000 increase.  Board Chairman Jim Miksch says $850,000 of this increase is to service debt of $8 million in bonds issued for the improvement of secondary roads projects.

The remainder of the increase will cover operating expenses for the county.  The approved budget will not take effect until July 1st of this year.  The next Board of Supervisors meeting will be next Tuesday at 9:30 in the Washington County Courthouse.
