The Washington County Board of Supervisors met in regular session yesterday morning and approved requests from the Secondary Roads Department of a 28E Agreement with the city of Ainsworth. The agreement is for work on the 1st Avenue Bridge which turns into 250th Avenue outside of the Ainsworth city limits. County Engineer David Patterson says the funding from the Federal Government covers 80% of this project.
He adds the project will start in 2014. Also during the meeting, a quote was reviewed for the painting of the center lines on the County Roads.
Patterson says the yellow lines are painted every two years and half of the white lines on the roads are every two years as well. He says Vogel Traffic Services from Orange City, Iowa has been contracted to paint the lines with a cost of over $32,000.
Patterson says Vogel has done work in the county before and he is pleased with their work. The next Board of Supervisors meeting will be next Tuesday at 9:30 in the Washington County Courthouse.
