The Washington County Board of Supervisors met in regular session yesterday morning and acknowledged applications for voluntary annexations.  These annexations come from two landowners near the city of Riverside.  County Auditor Bill Fredrick says per Iowa code, these annexations have to be reported to the proper affected jurisdictions.

He says the only jurisdictions affected are the county and Iowa Township.  Fredrick says a resolution will have to be passed by the Supervisors to approve, oppose or take a neutral stance on the annexations.

Also during the meeting, they approved the appointment of Charles T. Johnson as Lime Creek Township Trustee.  Johnson is filling the seat left vacant after the death of his father and he will serve until the end of 2012.

The supervisors approved the contract for appraisal services of $2,500 to Hattery Real Estate Appraisal of Davenport as well.  This fee covers the appraisal of the lagoon site in Richmond.  The Washington County Board of Supervisors meet every Tuesday morning at 9:30 in the Washington County Courthouse.
