Tonight is the time to spring forward.  Before you go to bed tonight, be sure to set your clocks ahead one hour for Daylight Saving Time.  It is also recommended to check and change the batteries in your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission also recommends looking at the date on the smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors as well.  They say if smoke detectors are more than 10 years old, and carbon monoxide detectors are more than 5 years old, you should replace them because the sensors in alarms will degrade and lose effectiveness over time because of environmental contamination and age.
