A Washington Demon will be inducted into the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union Hall of Fame tonight. At halftime of the 1A championship game, Mary Berdo is among the three selected to go into the Hall of Fame this year. Berdo was a standout for the Demons in the mid 90’s and was the first to score 2,000 career points in the five-player era. She is the second all time leader in career assists with 745. Berdo went on to play at Iowa where she averaged 8 points per game her senior year and hit 44 three pointers in helping the Hawkeye win the Big Ten Tournament championship and reach the second round of the NCAA tournament in 2001. The 1A championship game will tip off at 6:00 pm and again the induction ceremony will be during halftime of that game.
