IMS boys basketball team is getting ready for their turn to take the floor at Well Fargo Arena. IMS opens state tournament play on Monday facing Guthrie Center. The team had a send off pep rally after school yesterday. Head Coach Dwight Gingerich says the team will leave for the capital city tomorrow and stay overnight. He says they’ll have a shoot around at Grand View College. Odd years have seemed to be kind to IMS. Since 2005, they have been to the state tournament every odd year, finishing runner up in 05 and 07 and finishing third in 09. They will face a Guthrie Center team that comes in 19-7. Guthrie Center beat Des Moines Grandview Park 51-46 at substate. IMS and Guthrie Center meet Monday afternoon with tip off set for 2-pm, you’ll be able to hear all of the IMS state tournament games right here on the one to count on KCII.
