Jefferson County Health Center (JCHC) has generated more than 188 jobs and over $13 million to the County’s economy.  According to the latest study by the Iowa Hospital Association, the employees from JCHC spend almost $4 million on retail sales and contribute more than $200,000 in state sales revenue.  The study found across the state of Iowa, hospitals directly employ over 70,000 people and create another 67,000 jobs outside the hospital sector.  The study was compiled from data submitted from hospitals on the American Hospital Association’s Annual Survey of Hospitals.
