Main Street Washington conducted an interactive discussion regarding the future of Washington. Amy Vetter with Main Street Washington says they heard from 25 people. She says those in attendance ranged from business owners, volunteers, and people who want to be a part of Main Street.
She says many shared about how to improve the look of the downtown buildings, using pole banners on the downtown street lights to highlight the seasons or festivities happening in Washington and upper story development. Vetter says some talked about having more entertainment venues to encourage people to stay in downtown.
She says the ideas shared at Wednesday night’s meeting will be presented to Main Street’s Board of Directors to create a priority list of moving forward with the projects. Vetter says ideas will be shared with the public after the Board meeting on how to implement those ideas.
