The Washington County Secondary Roads Department has a message regarding secondary roads this spring:  If you don’t need to be on them, stay off.Interim Engineer Jacob Thorius says the unpaved roads are always extremely susceptible to damage during the spring when things start to thaw out.  He says they currently have no embargos on any county roads.  Thorius adds if they need to embargo a road, they will put a restriction on the road of not allowing any vehicles over 5-tons and for not more than 90 days.

He says free permits can be obtained for those hauling perishable items or home heating fuel.
