Two area football players have been selected to play in the Shrine Bowl this summer. The two selected to the annual football all-star game were Sigourney-Keota’s Patrick Frank and WACO’s Troy Farrier. They will play on the south squad. Sigourney-Keota went through the regular season unbeaten and lost in the quarterfinals to the eventual 2A champion Iowa City Regina. WACO went unbeaten during the season and lost in the semifinals to North Tama. The 39th annual Iowa Shrine Bowl will be played July 23rd at Jack Trice Stadium on the campus of Iowa State.
