Women of Washington County who have been out of high school for at least one year are eligible for a scholarship.  Linda Brown, Chair of the Washington County Chapter of the American Association of University Women says they are offering two $750 scholarships.  She says those applying must have a need for financial assistance.

Brown adds you can be enrolled in a college or vocational school, or have plans to enroll in the near future.  She shares the scholarships will be applied toward tuition costs at any accredited institution.

Everyone applying needs to complete a form, provide a copy of their transcripts and furnish 3 references.  Applications and materials are available at the Washington Public Library, Wellman-Scofield Public Library, Kalona Public Library, Kirkwood Learning Center in Washington.
