A second fundraiser is being held this weekend to continue to raise funds for the renovation of the State Theater’s exterior in Washington. Lara Williams, event coordinator says the owners of the State Theater have decided to try and restore the theater to its original look. She says they have a goal of removing the outer blonde bricks, replacing the doors and restoring the windows and changing the marquee.
Williams says seven music groups will be performing throughout the night. She says the headlining band will be “Five in the Hand” and John Eric will be returning for another engagement. Williams says there is a $6 cover charge for all ages and there will also be a cash bar.
The evening’s events begin at 6:00 Saturday evening at 207 West Main Street next to the Washington Chamber of Commerce. Williams says the work on remodeling the inside of the theater from last November’s fire is still ongoing.
