The weather forecast may not be the best for the Washington Demon boys’ first outdoor meet, but they’re going. Demon Head Coach Steve Roth has been watching the forecast and with no rain or wind in the forecast, they’ve decided to run the meet despite the cold temperatures. He says twenty-one teams are scheduled to come including the return of a couple of squads with Grinnell and South Tama.

Roth says one attractive aspect of the Washington Relays is that they seed the heats. So say WACO is in the class with schools its size, if they have someone that has one of the fastest times in the area, that person will run in the heat with the bigger schools. The computer will put his time with the others in that athlete’s class, so he may finish fourth in the heat with the bigger schools but win the event in his class.

As for the Demons he plans on running his 4×1 and 4×2 strong. Roth also says he interested to see how freshman Noah Loebsack runs in the mile. They will be starting at 4:30 at Case Field and by the way typically they’ve started with field events at 4:30 and then running events at 5-pm, tonight they’ll start field events and running events at 4:30.
