The boil order for the City of Washington has ended. Chad McCleary from the Washington Water Department tells KCII that residents no longer have to boil water before consuming it or using it to cook. McCleary says the need for the original boil order was caused by two water main breaks and one well main break which happened last weekend and dropped the water pressure for the City.
He adds no contamination was found during the boil order and citizens do not need to worry about flushing out their systems at home. McCleary notes a boil order will always be issued when the City’s water supply drops below 20 pounds per square inch.
