The City of Washington is reminding property owners that it is time to mow and trim the grass and weeds again.  Steve Donnelly with Building and Zoning for the City of Washington says the maximum height of grass and/or weeds allowed in the city is eight inches on all residential and commercial properties. He says tall grass, weeds, non-ornamental vines, brush and other growth are considered a nuisance.

Donnelly adds these nuisances are subject to the city’s nuisance abatement process.  He says the city encourages property owners to keep their grass, weeds, non-ornamental vines, brush and other growth trimmed.  To see the full city ordinance, look here.
