The Demon girls track and field team was at Pen City Relays in Fort Madison, and they lowered their times in two key events. Demon Head Coach Howard Bean says going in they were hoping to improve in the 4×8 and the 4×4 and in the 4×8, the team of Stephanie Fishback, Mariah Reighard, Regan Enfield and Lauren Kimball improved by around ten seconds. The same group in the 4×4 dropped their previous best by a full second which Bean feels comfortable about that being a Drake qualifier.

Another event he was going to watch is the 400 meter dash with Regan Enfield but he says they decided not to run her in that event because she had some tightness in her legs after the 4×8.

Also Sammy Ellingson took second in the high jump but matched a personal best going 5-4, her highest of the season. Jenna Krebs won the discus throwing 114′ 9”. As for team points at Fort Madison, Bean says they weren’t really worrying about maximizing team points as they were lowering times in some of their relays. For some reason the computer at the meet left the Demons off of the team scoring report so it’s not clear how they placed as a team, but Bean says his best estimation is they probably got around fifth or sixth.
