A Sigourney teenager has died from a moped accident.  At 9:25 last night, 15 year old Brian Michael Bird of Sigourney was traveling on a moped southbound on Stuart Street in Sigourney.  According to the Iowa State Patrol, Bird drove into the back of a legally parked vehicle.

The Keokuk County Dispatch Center reports Bird was not wearing a helmet.  Bird was taken to the Keokuk County Hospital by ambulance and pronounced dead upon arrival.  Those responding to the scene were the Iowa State Patrol and Sigourney Police Department.
