Washington’s District judge has applied for the state Court of Appeals.  District Judge Michael R. Mullins is one of 26 applicants to fill a vacancy on the Iowa Court which came from when Judge Edward Mansfield was appointed to the Iowa Supreme Court.  Mullins was appointed as a District Judge in 2002.

The State Judicial Nominating Commission will conduct the interviews for all applicants on May 9th and 10th in the Iowa Supreme Court Courtroom.  After all the interviews have been completed, the Commission will send their group of nominees to Governor Terry Branstad who will have 30 days to appoint a new judge.
