Main Street Washington Receives Awards

Main Street Washington has been recognized as having a successful 2010.  Amy Vetter with Main Street says during the annual state convention, Washington received three different awards.  She says they won an award for the best design committee project of Structural Engineer Evaluation, best public improvement project on the Municipal Bandstand, and best Façade Improvement project over $15,000 at Bodywrx Fitness Center.

She says they were also recognized for their Washington Incentive Fund projects which is funded by the Washington County Riverboat Foundation grants.  In addition, the 2008-2010 Board of Directors were recognized as volunteers of the year.

These awards were presented by Governor Terry Branstad, Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds and the director of the Iowa Department of Economic Development, Debi Durham on Friday, April 1st in Des Moines.
