Mid-Prairie School Board Discusses Finances

The Mid-Prairie School Board met earlier this week and during their meeting, they talked about finances. Superintendent Mark Schneider says some school fees will increase next year. He says students will have to pay more for books, driver’s education courses and for lunch next year.
Schneider says an additional $5 will be charged for books, $15 per session for driver’s education, and it will cost both the student and adult an additional five cents to eat lunch. He adds they learned that the Elementary Foreign Language program funding grant that ends at the end of this school year.
Schneider says the Board has agreed to the continued teaching of Chinese to the students. He says the board agreed to continue with a sharing agreement of a Business Manager and a Human Resource Representative with the Keota School District as well and the Board also approved the budget for next year.
