A pavement patching project on Highway 1 will restrict traffic to one lane from the south city limits of Fairfield to Highway 78 near Richland beginning Tuesday.  The project will affect traffic until Wednesday, June 15, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Fairfield construction office.  The contractor will be working from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. daily.

Flaggers will assist traffic through the work area.  A 12-foot width lane restriction will be in place in the open lane. Normal driving conditions will resume when workers are not present.

The prime contractor for project is TEK Builder, Incorporated, of Mount Ayr, and will cost two hundred sixty thousand dollars.
