The ISU Extension is offering a course called the Homegrown Lifestyles Program which is targeted for those who want to do their own vegetable and fruit production.  Gene Mohling with the ISU Extension says during this 12 week course, they will be focusing on the landscape needed and growing the food, food storage and preservation and items related to raising livestock.  Mohling says this class is helpful for anyone living on a large lot or a small acreage.

He adds this course will provide information from local experts to help meet the demand for more information about growing, raising and preserving the food for consumption.  The weekly classes start tomorrow at 6:30 pm. The cost of the program is $149 and registration can be made by contacting the Johnson County Extension Office.
