The National Weather Service’s Quad Cities office is holding the second of two storm spotter training classes in the area tonight.   Donna Dubberke, Warning Coordination Meteorologist from the National Weather Service says their network of storm spotters consist of private citizens, first responders, and amateur radio operators.  Dubberke says everyone coming will learn about storm structure, spotter positioning, safety and damage reporting.

She adds the course is geared toward emergency personnel, but is open to the general public.  The class is free and is being held tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Washington Public Library.  To learn more about becoming a Weather Spotter, click here.
