Washington School District’s special election results are in. According to Washington County Auditor Bill Fredrick, the Physical Plant and Equipment Levy passed with 59% of the vote with only 10% of eligible voters voting. With this measure passing, Washington School Superintendent Dr. Mike Jorgensen says the funds will be used for major repairs, purchasing buses and technology initiatives.
He adds this levy is a continuation of the current levy that is already in place. He says the levy passed yesterday will take effect July 1, 2012 and will be in effect for 10 years. Election results won’t be official till next week when the auditor’s office conducts canvassing.
