The Washington County Community Organization Active in Disasters (COAD) is looking for volunteers to help if an emergency should hit the county.
Washington County Public Health Program Director Chrystal Woller says COAD is having this meeting to help better their response in an emergency. She says this first training is to prepare volunteers to gain skills and learn how to establish an emergency volunteer center.
Woller adds COAD would get direction from the emergency manager stating what is needed from volunteers in the community depending on the emergency. The sign up deadline for the class is Tuesday, May 17th and the class is Tuesday, May 24th.
