A woman from Washington has won a top prize playing one of the Iowa lottery’s instant‑scratch games. Ruth Eagle has won the top prize of $30,000 playing the “Lucky Lines” game. Eagle claimed her prize at the Lottery’s regional office in Cedar Rapids earlier this week.
She purchased the lucky $3 ticket at Hy-Vee in Washington. Since the state started the lottery in 1985, players have won more than $2.6 billion in prizes and the lottery has raised more than $1.2 billion for the state programs that benefit all Iowans.
The lottery provides support for veterans, help a variety of significant projects through the state’s General Fund and back the Vision Iowa program which helps create tourism destinations and community attractions in the state and build and repair schools.
