One of the area’s first farmers’ markets to get underway this spring is in Columbus Junction. The fifth season of the Columbus Junction Farmers’ Market begins Friday and run from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. Ritza Castillo is one of the directors of the market.
She says vendors will have fresh produce, baked goods, noodles, craft items, herbs, and more available for purchase. Two new vendors have preregistered as well, and Castillo says the more vendors are certainly welcome.
Castillo says this weekend’s market will feature an abundance of plants for those customers searching for Mother’s Day gifts. She also reminds patrons that there will be some vendors who accept Iowa Farmers Market Nutrition coupons, as well as WIC and Senior Program coupons.
The market runs for twenty-four weeks, from this Friday until October 14th on the American Legion parking lot.
