Road construction is set to begin Monday on two county roads. Manatts, Incorporated of Brooklyn, Iowa will be preparing Kiwi Avenue, and 155th Street north of 170th Street for paving. The project covers about two and a quarter miles of road and those streets will be closed to thru traffic during construction.
Jake Hotchkiss with the Washington County Engineers’ office says the paving project is part of a 12 million dollar plan to pave or repair roads in the county. This work is part of the first phase of that plan.
The contractor plans to begin paving by the end of May, and construction should be completed within six to eight weeks.
