The Washington Demon baseball team got their first win of the season hosting Mediapolis last night. Washington’s Anthony Ossman started the home part of the first with a base hit and stole second. Josh Moore had a base hit to score Ossman and the Demons’ first run of the season. The Demons scored two runs in the first. Mepo got a run across to pull within one, but the Demons jumped out to a 7-1 lead and would win it by that margin. Jared Henry started on the hill for the Demons and Head Coach Nathan Miller is excited to what he can bring having developed a strong split finger, that gives him three pitches he can throw in the zone, which Miller says is big in high school. The Demons are now 1-1 on the season and will head on the road to play a doubleheader with Louisa-Muscatine tonight.
