The Washington Demon boys golf team ended up with their best finish in school history at the boys state golf tournament. Demon Head Coach Mark Berhow says they were at the top after the first day with a three stroke lead and felt pretty good, but Clear Lake shot a 308 on the second day and the Demons shot just a little higher than they figured they needed to shoot to win. The Demons finished five strokes off of Clear Lake. Berhow says while finishing second might sting a little because of the position they were in going into Saturday, when they look back they should realize what a great accomplishment they made. He points out it’s their best finish at the tournament for boys golf. He says they had finished third a few times but based on what he’s been able to find, second is the best finish for a boys golf team in Washington. Washington shot a 312 and 323 for a 635.
