The Washington Demon girls golf team has advanced in the postseaon. The Demons finished second yesterday at their district tournament. Grinnell won with a 386 and Washington shot a 387. The top two schools from each district advance to the regional round, but unlike the boys, the girls don’t take a third team if the host schools is one of those top two. For the Demons:
Abby Threlkeld 93
Emily Zehr 95
Cassy Tusler 98
Shannon Paul 101
Head Coach Len Kull says they advanced and that’s the main thing. He says he doesn’t think his team has played their best round yet. The Demons will play Monday at Anamosa where they will see Grinnell, Dubuque Wahlert, and Maquoketa.

Elsewhere, the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls were hosting their district as well, and the Golden Hawks saw their season come to an end. Colfax-Mingo shot 402 and Regina shot a 409 to advance. The Golden Hawks finished third with a 436. Scoring for Mid-Prairie were:
Allison McArtor 100
Maddie Gent 109
Breanna McFarland 113
Jordyn Kelso 114

At Wapello, Wapello won with 401 and Davis County shot 457 to advance. Columbus shot 496 for fourth.

At New London, New London advances shooting a 462 to win, Keota also moves on they shot 488. Winfield-Mount Union shot a 510 for third. WACO’s Michala Kramer advances as an individual shooting 97 to tie for medalist.
