A fundraising walk was held over the weekend in support of all Iowa troops and Veterans.  Lindsey Becker, Founder of Doc Walk says the name “Doc” is a nickname given to combat medics by their fellow soldiers.  She says the walk held on Saturday raised over $600.

Becker notes over the last couple of months over $1500 has been raised from various tip nights that have been held at area pizza restaurants.  She adds that students from Lincoln Elementary in Washington donated some dried good supplies and a company in New Jersey donated a large glucosamine supply as well.

Becker says all donations received will go toward the Wounded Warrior Project and the Checkered Flag Foundation.  KCII’s Big Red Radio was also at Saturday’s Doc Walk with the Disney Getaway Giveaway Prize Wheel.
