A former Washington Demon softball player is headed to the national championship tournament with her college team. Kirkwood Community College beat Central Community College out of Columbus, Nebraska to earn the spot. Washington’s Caitlin Fishback plays for Kirkwood. Kirkwood beat Central in a best of three series winning in two. They won the first game in extra innings with a home run in the twelfth and took the second game 5-0. Now Kirkwood will head to Normal, IL to play in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament which will begin May 19th. Sixteen teams play at the tournament.
