Mid-Prairie has selected their new athletic director. Current A-D Don Showalter is retiring. Showalter says Steve Hollan has been selected for the position. Hollan is the current boys varsity track and field head coach and coaches junior high football. He is also a teacher at Washington Township. Showalter says Hollan will be the A-D/ Transportation Director for the district and will give up his teaching and coaching positions. Showalter says the district feels the position demands too much these days to be able to also coach.

While he’s retiring, Showalter says it doesn’t slow down much he has a busy summer with numerous clinics and camps here and in Europe, as well as commitments with USA Basketball and the under 16 team. As for Mid-Prairie basketball, Showalter says he has interest in continuing to be apart of the Mid-Prairie program but as to exactly what that role will be they’ll have to wait until it gets closer to next season.
