The City of Keota approved their 2010-2011 budget amendment at this week’s city council meeting. The amendment is an annual item on their agenda, as the city must review all of its departments and see who’s over and under their allotted budget. When the review is complete, funds can be transferred from departments under their budget to the departments who’ll need some help.
For example, the police department went over their budget in the last year, so in order to make up the difference, the city will transfer money from the Water Department, who was under their budget for the year.
Mayor Pro-tem Scott Flynn says the budget was approved unanimously by the council members who were present.
