Washington’s District Judge is one step closer to being on the state Court of Appeals. District Judge Michael R. Mullins is one of three finalists chosen from 26 applicants to fill a vacancy on the Iowa Court which came from when Judge Edward Mansfield was appointed to the Iowa Supreme Court. Mullins was appointed as a District Judge in 2002.
The State Judicial Nominating Commission conducted interviews Monday and yesterday and has sent their nominees to Governor Terry Branstad who now has 30 days to appoint a new judge.
