Memorial Day Ceremonies

Today is Memorial Day a time set aside to honor those who gave their lives serving in the Armed Forces.  Around the country, people will be marking the holiday with different remembrance ceremonies.  Barb Duder, Commander of the American Legion Post 29 says in Washington, there will be a flag raising ceremony at the Post Office at 8:00 followed by a Memorial Day Ceremony honoring Sailors and Marines at 8:30 at the Crooked Creek Bridge on old Highway 92.

There will be ceremony for all veterans at Elm Grove Cemetery this morning at 10:00.  Coming up at 3:00, a national moment of silence is observed in honor of our deceased veterans.
