Mother’s Day is tomorrow and it is a day where many special gifts are sent to mothers. Laura Bombei from Wolf Floral says Mother’s Day is their busiest day and week of the year. She says sales pick up toward the end of the week.
Bombei notes this year about 70 percent of her customers are buying fresh flowers instead of plants. She adds she has received calls from all over the country as well as some serving in the military in Afghanistan of those who want to send flowers to their mothers in the Washington area.
Rita Schull, Floral Manager at the Washington Hy-Vee says they have also seen an increase in sales and Mother’s Day is also their busiest time of the year.
