Bail has been set for the suspect charged in the death of a woman from Riverside.  Washington County Attorney Larry Brock says 70 year old Thomas Lee Hansen of Riverside had an initial court appearance on Monday.  Hansen waived a preliminary hearing and bail was set at $2 million, cash only.

The preliminary autopsy results from the State Medical Examiner’s office at the University of Iowa Hospital conducted yesterday concluded that the victim, 54 year old Sharon Kay Gerot of Riverside, was the result of a single gunshot wound to the head.  Brock adds that a criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the person charged is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
