The American Cancer Society has launched their annual campaign against breast cancer called “Plant It Pink.”  Cassie Furlong with the American Cancer Society says they have a goal of planting thousands of Pink Impression tulip bulbs in the state to honor the men and women who will be diagnosed with cancer this year.  She adds that tulips are a symbol of annual renewal, and a metaphor for those who have survived the cancer experience.

Furlong says the bulbs will arrive in October and will bloom around Mother’s Day.  The orders are due by July 1st and the cost for a box of bulbs is $20 which goes toward increase the funding spent on cancer research and programs.
