Washington letter carriers are participating in their annual “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive today.  Andy Miller, with the Washington Post office says they’re asking residents to put non-perishable food donations outside their house to be picked up along with the mail. He says before the donations go to a local food bank, they will be taken to the Post Office to be weighed to see how much was collected.

Miller adds last year, 4000 pounds of food was collected they would like to get more this year. This is the 19th year the National Association of Letter Carriers has conducted the food drive.
